Stress and deflection evaluations of World Cat’s existing 320DC and new 400DC Powered Catamarans
Structural Analysis and Finite Element Modeling:
- Generated system level finite element models including modeling of high performance composite materials
- Performed static stress and deflection analysis considering hull pressure loads and inertial relief
- Provided design margin plots so material usage can be optimized
- Characterized the structural performance of their successful 320DC design and to leverage the results along with DNV-GL design loads to optimize structure for the 400DC.
