PEI provided design and structural analysis for the ASRG housing and internal components from preliminary design phase through fabrication of qualification test units.

Structural Analysis:

  • Generated system level finite element model using FEMAP software
  • Modal analysis performed using NX/NASTRAN
  • Performed random vibration analysis with force limiting
  • Performed sine pulse analysis
  • Performed acoustic analysis on radiator fins and prototype shunt radiator
  • Provided modal analysis and model tuning and test correlation
  • Generated modal transient response analysis and study of Stirling engine synchronization
  • Performed fatigue and fracture analysis
  • Performed structural analysis of ceramic thermal insulation

Engineering Design (PTC Creo):

  • Developed mass model design
  • Provided the preliminary design of spacecraft interface adapter
  • Incorporated ASRG housing modifications to meet structural requirements
  • Designed Stirling engine interface tube
