Services Performed:
Provided design, analysis and manufacturing support for development of the simulator structure

Structural Analysis:

• Generated a finite element model of the system including the Motion Platform, Cockpit Frame, IOS Frame, SEOS Visual Display, and Visual Support Structure
• Performed quasi-static analysis for body accelerations and gravity loading
• Performed modal and buckling analyses and a deflection study
• Provided global and detailed stress analysis including weld and mechanical joints
• Performed composite structural analysis

Engineering Design:

• Provided design of the following components:
  • Motion platform
  • Projector platform and handrail
  • Cockpit and instructor operator station frame
  • Front arch structure (interface with visual display)
• Developed design concepts, provided iterations, and performed feasibility studies of all structural components
• Provided the design of reinforcements as required by analysis
• Generated all detail part and assembly drawings
• Provided engineering support during manufacturing and installation
• Updated design model/drawings as required during manufacturing and installation
