The NASA Aerosol Cloud MeTeorology Interactions oVer the Western ATlantic Experiment (ACTIVATE) project seeks to address better understanding the interactions between aerosol particles, clouds, and the surrounding meteorology. PEI’s is assisting modifying a Facon HU-25A jet aircraft to install four research instruments aft of the cockpit on the fuselage crown. Support includes mechanical design, analyses of engineering designs, and FAA-level Designated Engineering Representative (DER) approvals of engineering data via FAA Form 8110-3.
