Aircraft Modification

Michael J. Pagnotta has been a Structures DER (CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, and 29) since 1996. Modifications or alterations that comply with the applicable Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) can be approved by a DER without FAA approval. The DER serves as the “eyes and ears” of the FAA and approves the modifications or alterations based on the findings of compliance. Demonstrating compliance with the FAR does not necessarily require structural design or analysis. Testing can be performed to find compliance.

Pagnotta Engineering has supported numerous aircraft and rotorcraft modification projects including those for NASA Langley, NOAA, Northrop Grumman, Sierra Nevada Corp., Sikorsky, Hansen Helicopters,  Leading Edge Composites, and many private aircraft owners.

Space Flight

Pagnotta Engineering, Inc. is experienced in the design and analysis of Space Flight Hardware.  Projects supported include design and finite element stress and dynamic response analyses of bus, solar array, payload panels, instrument and battery packages, sensor structures, and any other structural components that must be mission qualified.

Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE)

Pagnotta Engineering, Inc. is experienced in the design and analysis of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment.  We have provided support on numerous MGSE projects for Lockheed Martin and Orbital ATK including turn-over, lab handling, and shipping fixtures for components as small as payload panels and as large as entire spacecraft.  Also, on several occasions, we have provided turn-key solutions that include proof testing and delivery of finished equipment.
